Upstairs bathroom rad on gravity. The 'return' goes straight up into the loft and back done again through the airing cupboard. The vent is T'd off this pipe in the loft. So the installer has basically piped the rad into the expansion pipe. Custard called me as I service their boiler, they had heard the f&e tank 'boiling'. The pictured rad was at 75 degrees, same as boiler control stat position. I spect what they heard was the expansion pipe blowing.
The rad and pipe work look long standing but I've not seen this before. Anyone else?
