Hi all,
I have secure the underfloor heating job, arranged a plumber who knows his stuff to give me a hand setting it up,

But just want some advice

Boiler is downstairs, pump in boiler, airing cupboard upstairs with 3 port valve and cylinder, manifold will be below boiler.

1. Where is the best place to connect flow and return, given that it has a 2 port valve, could i just connect the flow and return into the boiler flow and return or should it be after the 3 port valve?

2. How high is the insulation on the edges?

Just a little backround, underfloor heating is having 70mm insulation and 70mm screed.

Thanks again, will ask plumber that I am working with but I am really busy this week and want to work out costs.

Underfloor needs its own pump after mixing valve and teed in to return

Any chance of changing the system to S Plan?

A three channel programmer would give you, hot water, radiators and underfloor as all should be controlled by thermostats.

UFH manifolds usually have their own pump and mixing valve so the S plan might help to make the controls easier to manage.

Just thinking out loud.

And liquid screed is better for underfloor quicker reaction times

Thinking correct

The f&R can be connected off the boiler as it has its own two port to control it.
the perimeter insulation is 150mm high

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
