why does my potterton pro max come on between timer settings

is it a timer or programmeable room stat?

do you have a frost stat?

Do they have a 'pump saver' feature like Glow Worms?

As above ... The promax will run for a minute every 24hrs to protect the pump. I had a duotec do exactly the same, same time every day it would fire up! I thought it was supose to just run the pump but this one didn't :)

it has a programmeable room stat and it does have a frost stat but it has been 6 degrees today.

These boilers have an integral frost protection mad 16 ... is that what you mean or has there been an external stat fitted?

we have a portable room stat we can move around and the boiler is in the garage

The boilers integral frost protection I believe works on water temp but I'm not 100% positive and is looking for 5DegC Mad 16 ... Do you have an external frost thermostat also fitted though?

Do these extra activations happen at the same time each day? And how long do they last?

then there is no off time, only a range of temps, what is the required temp between 'settings'?

So we've all decided that it can't be a pump saver feature waking the boiler / pump up at regular intervals?

but if a prog room stat it never goes off? just different temps at different times
