Hello all

I was hoping to pick some brains on a rather annoying boiler issue please.

We set our water heater to come on in the early hours and a couple of months back started hearing a noise that literally sounded like someone clanging pans together.

We had British Gas insurance and a chap came out and fitted a new pump. The noise died down considerably but you can still hear it now and again. It sounds like: dum, dum, dum, followed by a louder DUM! (that's the best I can do, sorry!)

A couple of weeks back we had no hot water in the morning so called them again and another engineer fitted a new motor. The water is hot now and working fine, but the noise is still there. Also, the pipes seem to be creaking louder than they used to (they've always creaked a bit as they're too close together apparently, just the c*ap design of the house)

The radiator in our room sounds like it's flooding quite noisily too now and again. Then it dies down and goes quiet, then happens again after about 20 minutes.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Mark

If you've got TRV's on the wrong end, that can do it !
like a pneumatic drill ?
The other issues sound to be separate.

When it's banging next, try opening all TRV's one at a time to see if it makes a difference.
If not then the search continues and you'll have to come back with more info.
