I was taught 0.25mbar is perceptible or gauge readable movement. On the Facebook group a few people are adamant it's 0.5mbar. Am I wrong? Has it changed?

Cheers mate, was 100% sure but when quite a few people said 0.5 I started questioning myself! Yeah, this is bread and butter stuff, I'm shocked at people not knowing..

TEST CRITERIA
...
Note:
A movement of 0.25 mbar or less on a fluid (water) gauge is considered to be “not perceptible”. Therefore, if the gauge is seen to move, it can be inferred that the pressure within the installation has altered by more than 0.25 mbar.
It follows that, where a gauge that can register perceptible movement of less than 0.25 mbar i.e an electronic gauge, is used, the pass criteria of “no perceptible movement” has to be considered to be a maximum of 0.25 mbar except for those gauges that read to one decimal place when “no perceptible movement” is considered a maximum of 0.2 mbar.

Any fluid (water) gauge shall be capable of being read to 0.5 mbar and any electronic gauge shall be capable of being read to 0.1 mbar.

You got the commercial documents up in your dropbox:

Talking commercial, I think the dude got a bit confused between – NOT PERCEPTABALE MOVEMENT and GUAGE READABLE MOVEMENT.

I'm not commercial, just reading the docs.

Yes ,,i was thinking that myself....of course with UP1/1A your even less certain as to whether something is really gas tight and so they then introduce the concept of nominal tightness :)

Being a bit blind i always make sure my guages are spotless and i bleached them internally every week and refill with nice clean water. I also use a small magnifying glass for close up monitoring of the meniscus.

Try the blue U-gauge liquid, it stops it going moldy and makes the level much easier to see

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...
