Hello everyone, i am a new member from the sheffield area and i am looking for a gas safe company/engineer to take me with them so that i can build my portfolio.I have recently spent 9 months with a heating company as a trainee gas fitter/heating engineer but the firm went bust before i could undertake the acs training and assessment course. Since then i have managed to fund the course my self and have just completed part 1 acs gas safety cat 3. Any advice or help with this would be much appreciated.:)

Hi ecv and welcome to UKPlumbersForums.co.uk!

Hi ECV

why dont you log the nine months you have worked already
if your still in contact with any of your old tradesmen
they can sign of work you have done.
even if its heating once youve completed
CCN and CEN you then become catagory one and dont require a portfolio
for other courses you take.

thanks for the heads up gbgas, unfortunately after contacting them i found them unwilling to help with this, seems like the prospect of gas safe being able to inspect work done gives some people the eeby geebies. I always think that if you are going to do a job it has to be tip top and know your subject back to front but they didn't

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
