Hi guys. I was just wondering how you all keep your benders in good working order. Dose anyone use wire wool or grease and what are some good tip to keep my benders from ceasing up. :53:

Many thanks
sammy

Yes I do mine when pipe starts to ripple. Wire wool the saddle and formers, graphite grease the internals of the wheels and it's good as new

I generally just rub soap over the formers / guides.
Now and again rub them back with steel wool or sand paper.
Another trick is to shamfer the leading edge.
Did have a few problems with mine until I did this

get a bender bag. clean formers and guides with wire wool once a week, grease/ lube rollers when needed.

or get an apprentice. :)

Iv'e a faithfull bag guys and there great with pockets for guides but im onto my second one and the zip has broken on this one aswell, im gona see if i can find a slightly more durable bag but the faithfull one has been ok, If i had a ÂŁ for every custard who made the joke " OH YOUR OFF TO WIMBLEDON " as i carry my benders into jobs

The ZIP on mine broke after the first day, good bags but that let's it down.

My hillmors are over ten years old, never done a thing to them. I certainly wouldn't grease them, it get on your sheets or the carpet!

best way to keep benders working ok is to look after them by not lobbing them in the back of the van or dropping them when youre using them. It's that easy

I've got some Record benders that must be 30 years old. Never done anything to them ever. I don't think i've ever had a rippled pipe ever.
