I have just moved into a house with a grant baxi back boiler in the coal fire and oil link up. approx 20 year old system

I have tried 2 plumbers but am stuck.

The problem is when i pull the damper on the back boiler to put the heat to the rads you can hear what sounds like air bubbling in the back boiler, it doesnt stop when the pump is running. its loud enough to interrupt conversation but its different to the normal noise if eg the pump wasnt working which wud make loud banging noises. Any ideas. Help pls

Knowing what the majority of the link ups are like over here it's been piped up incorrectly. You need the system piped up correctly.

You most certainly need someone in to look at it, preferably one with both HETAS and OFTEC.

Every two weeks or so I have to go and top up the system because the hot taps are running cold. Boiler display is flashing 0.6 bar and I fill up to 1.3. I've had an engineer look inside the boiler and he can't see anything wrong. I've checked the pipes all over the house and cannot see any...

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...
