Discuss Fixing a broken shower diverter button in the Bathrooms, Showers and Wetrooms area at PlumbersForums.net

Hello,
I need to replace a broken shower/tub diverter push button. Do I need to shut off the water to the house to do this? I am getting different answers and trying to see if it’s absolutely necessary. Many people say they did it without turning off water and it’s a simple job.
Thank you
