I know it might be a simple question but is there a difference between fibre washers for water and gas,
As most of the washers that come with water fittings are red and the ones that come with gas are usually yellow/green is there a difference?

The last baxi i fitted last week had the same for both. Identical in every way i could tell..never the less the one in the gas fittings bag went on the gas.
The logic plus i fitted last week were different. Almost like a carbon grease/resin in the mixed in the fibres unlike the usual pale green water type, if that makes sense..hard to explain - but deffo different.

I asked for a bag from grahams the other week and he came back with a pack of 10 water. I told him they were no good for gas lol and he came back with singles grrrrrrr

baxi had seperate waher for gas, no i believe they have changed all the washers for the gas type so they dont get mixed!
water washers are for water!!

I always get my gas washers from my boiler supplier and always keep them separate from the water ones

ahh the washer debate,in Theory there is n practice its utter tosh, its like gas ptfe v normal ptfe, absolute nonsense as said baxi ones all look the same, because they are ,other manuf use different colors etc but its not necessary

Yep, different. One is tested for water and its changes with heat/ moisture for durability etc and the ones for gas tested for gas properties, pressure resistance etc. So i was advised many year ago . Just be safe and use the one that is meant, never compromise with the ole gas fittings
