Hi all,
Have had a quote to rip out existing tiling (due to water ingress), replace the shower tray and replace tiles with plastic wall panels.
This is a small ensuite, approx size 70cm x 80cm x 170cm high.
Quote is 2k and a week to do. Does this seem about right for the job?

labour Only?
Labour and materials?
Labour and materials and screen, tray, enclosure, boards?
Who is removing waste?

All depends upon the quality.

I can get you a tray and quadrant for £199 or the quadrant alone can be 2k.

You have to compare like for like quotes.

Not the tray, that’s extra!, 2k for enclosure once you go 10mm minimalist it’s easy to spend spend - I’m not saying it’s worth it, just you can spend it!

Ben, I don`t see mention of enclosure, tiles off and horrid plastic wall panels is all I see.

Oh arrr, so it does RPM!

I also see it says 700 x 800; now I’m thinking that (almost) no matter what it seems too much - however it is all too vague, see what spec. Is when OP comes back.

Glad we`re on the same page, seems high atm, Hammers lives that way I believe, wonder if he would like to chip in

I'd be more worried about the application of plastic wall panels in place of tiling.
Depends on the quality of the plastic panel. I've done some horrible 4mm thick stuff in rentals but also done some 10mm stuff which surprised me with the quality and strength of them.

Depends what you find when ripped out, if it’s been leaking it may need reboarding and skimming, or bonding and skimming depends on the walls, plus floorboards may be shot too.

yeah, that sounds a lot

For me plastic is a no go. Even the 10mm I've seen is terrible. Panels for me have to be Grant Westfield or Mermaid.
Oh I'd never recommend them either, I like nuance bushboards and will always recommend them over any. I've had trouble with mermaid so won't use those either.
