Bet this happens so much.Just me or anyone else drive away from a job and worry if you tightened all the nuts?
Did a gas hob put electric oven back under the hob, and thinking did I tighten connections, but tightness test held up so must of been done automatically without thinking, just can’t remember doing itThe common one is flue test points on boilers.
If in doubt. Go back and check it out.Did a gas hob put electric oven back under the hob, and thinking did I tighten connections, but tightness test held up so must of been done automatically without thinking, just can’t remember doing it

Might do, just looks bad asking the customer if you can check it looks like you don’t know what your doing I feel, it held up on tightness test so I’m sure I would of otherwise it would of dropped on the testIf in doubt. Go back and check it out.
Yep, had this myself when I was renting. Noticed it 5 days after the enginner had done a landlords and service. Boiler was in cupboard in bathroom. I went mad at the guys who had the service contract. The common one is flue test points on boilers.
Yep same thing I do that too but like we said there is a reason for a test if it doesn’t drop it’s fine and tightYep , its the same as driving away from home thinking “ did I lock the door “ lol

I have done that on a few occasions. Especially with kids around.Yep , its the same as driving away from home thinking “ did I lock the door “ lol
I never leave stuff just always get the feeling I want to go back and double check everything even though I know I’ve tested properlyI alway seem to leave something. Manometer, Hat, FGA charger, the list goes on....
I trust my gut.I never leave stuff just always get the feeling I want to go back and double check everything even though I know I’ve tested properly
Nice to know it’s not just me, I’ve done the exact same thing.Yep, years ago I use to fit boilers on the warmfront scheme and did a lovely conversion in York. We finished and left the property about 7pm, when we got to Doncaster I had this horrible feeling that I left the test nipple out on the meter, my paranoia got the best of me, so we drove back and the fecker was in and all tight.
Ahhhh
I should as I know I always test probably, confidence comes with time I guess.I trust my gut.
For locking things I say to myself (but out loud) something like "It's Tuesday and I've locked the door" immediately after I've done it. It's the saying it out loud that seems to fix the memory for me. It's important to include the day for obvious reasons.
Glad it’s not just me.Once I just settled in bed and had an alarming thought of did I close p2 on the gas valve. Did not remember doing it up. Phoned customer at 11pm and explained. Went to his house and....I had closed it. He was actually happy I went back and recommended me to his mother. I would not have been able to sleep if I had not gone back.
plenty of times ....worst one was 40 mile each way in darkest somerset, get back, hmm did I put the nipple back in the gas meter ? after drop test, return, ...hello mrs 'i left my wallet in the understairs cupboard ' it was okJust me or anyone else drive away from a job and worry if you tightened all the nuts?

It’s not just me who has a photo album full of test points thenGood old mobile phones cameras
From this post I have taken it’s a good idea to get into a routine on every job to check and test and forget it knowing you’ve done.Compression nuts I tend to have a routine where I check every nut again before I turn water on.
Radiator vents I prefer to open and later close them myself, so to not miss one and risk water everywhere on refill
Yup, done that too, left mobile on a roof in Chepstow whilst shoving a liner down, went back , scaffold gone....its still there !Yes, have that feeling most times about one thing or another, especially about did I turn the gas back on. Go through the sequence in your head and yes everything is always fine. It really screws things up when customers come and talk to you when your half way through doing something. Also left my mobile phone in an airing cupboard once after using the torch on it. Trouble was the number of the client was on it so couldn't phone them to ask them if it was there just had to go back to the property and see if my hunch was correct. Luckily they were still in so I was able to retrieve my phone after turning the van upside down looking for it.
Meter test points always get tested with off once put back in. I stick to the routine so never worry. I do worry about flue gas caps tho but thankfully my analyser reminds me to put cap in when I turn it off.

a water leak makes a worse mess than a gas leak ...sometimes.That's a really good idea, my oh is particularly impressed and is going to trial that next week when locking up at customers (she does dog walking &sitting).
I'm really bad for worrying about this sort of thing, its bad enough with water, guessing its going to be even worse when I start working with gas! Still think its better to be overly paranoid than not enough.
This is a very true.there will always be problems ...its how you deal with them that counts in my book Centralheatking
Never doubt your own abilities. All the time. Just gas safe registered but always get home and overthink what I’ve done! Always do a tightness test and then relight appliances just before I leave but still get home and stress.
Hopefully it gets better, any tips?

I never use compression on gas for that reason! Always solder you cant really go wrong then!
