Hi,

How do I go about removing the lead pipe from this cast iron bath overflow? Nothing seems keen to move!

Thanks

Do you need the pipe afterwards?

Use an angle grinder to grind the back off

Good luck with the taps

Two ways hacksaw but very time consuming

Or alot of heat on the back of the fitting (where the flats / nut shape is) e.g. Blow torch

And undo from the front the front grill has female threads in it

It tends to be the putty used to seal it which causes it to be mega tight to undo. Like above. When I come across this situation I use a little heat and undo from the front. Always worked for me. Good luck.

Might give it a go with the blow torch and if that fails angle grinder it.

Thanks again

Going to give this a go. What's the best tool to use to undo the grill from the front?

Cheers

Strap wrench but you have to be careful due to the heat

Any luck ?
