What type of systems are used in steel trough urinals

Its a question for college work. I cannot fond anything about it on the internet so was wondering if someone could help?

Bit confused by your question, but a standard trough is bolted to the wall is usually stainless steel and fed by a cistern that auto flushes via a pet cock that drips water into it. The pipe inside the trough has wee holes along it to allow the flushing water to come through, sometimes called a sparge pipe.
The pet cock/cistern is usually mains fed but can be fed from a large storage tank. I fit water saving devices in schools, public buildings etc that have a infrared sensor and detect when someone is near and flushes the cistern automatically. The logic behind this is to stop a cistern constantly going through its flush cycle when the building isn't occupied, e.g holidays etc and save water.

the correct answer to your question 'what type of systems are used in steel trough urinals' is quite hard to explain, but here goes: liquid is poured in to the top orifice, it then passes through a system whereby energy is removed, passes through a cleansing material and then is stored ready for passing at the owners convenience into the steel trough urinal. lol
