Hello good people.
I am trying to remove a cartridge from a Cooke and Lewis Berrow single lever mixer tap. I have removed the lever and the shroud which was a push fit not a threaded one. There is no securing nut to release the cartridge. Never seen this before. The cartridge must be held in place somehow but there appears to be no way to lift it out. Any ideas welcome

Can you post a photo of the tap? It’s also guaranteed for 10 years.
Yes. Two photos attached. Nothing inside here will move or unscrew, except the cross headed screw which just keeps the lever pivot fixed to the cartridge. The notches you can see at 180 degrees to each other are there to make sure the shroud locates correctly when pushed in. I dont think the cartidge can be removed from the top - which would involve removing the tap if it only comes out via the bottom. Never seen that before though. By the way Cooke and Lewis now seems to be re-nmaed Good Home.

The notched part unscrews or There will be a brass nut with two flats on that will also unscrew and then the 35 mm cartridge pulls out

Thanks for your reply. There is a brass nut with two flats on - nearest "ring" to the blue in these photos. But to unscrew it will need some kind of very thin sided socket with two flats or a special tool. I have tried to turn it with thin nosed pliers but it isn't for shifting. it's a very cramped space to get anything into..

Thin wall deep socket / box spanner if you can get the size

Might be cheaper to change the tap

Hi bit of a weird issue, I installed a grohe bathroom tap successfully 2 months ago bought from screwfix. Last week the right hand hot tap makes a squeak noise as I turn it on or off, left tap is 100% perfect and noiseless. This grohe tap is like one unit, so no screw notch or way I can remove...
