Hi New to this hopefully someone can advise :tounge_smile:my oil boiler is fired up but there is no heat going to the Radiators they start to bang and then the system shuts off any advice please ?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

If the boiler starts heating up and there is no flow of water to your radiators there must be restriction or closed zone valve ... So it will literally overheat & shut the boiler which is a safety thing. Maybe no room stat is calling for heat therefore zone valve is shut.

Did you try to turn your room stat up ? Could be faulty boiler stat ... It could be quite few things

What sort of system have you got ? Do you have hot water ?

Oil Heating there is no Thermostat in the house but there's a dial on the boiler which has to be at 90 before it fires it stays on about 7 minutes then the radiators start to bang and it shuts off ..1 radiator trys to heat It is an old house and an old boiler but it was serviced less than a year ago.

What you could do is ask in the gas oil boiler forum for an advise there are a lot of specialised engineers who will help you more than I may can do ..

It still sounds like it is tripping out on a safety. It's a matter of finding out which safety it is and then correcting the problem from there.
How does your oil filter look like ?
When was your last service ?

If you haven't serviced the boiler for while it may need a service as the fuel is dirty and could cause a lot of problems when it comes to fire the boiler up.

Oil is a dirty fuel therefore cleaning each part along the path and starting from the burner could solve that problem.

A yellow flame means you are lacking of air. So check for dirt in the airways.

Exactly, it's not a boiler problem, you've no water in there. Turn the boiler off until a plumber with a bit of experience has found out why.
