Discuss Radiator blanking plug size in the Plumbing Jobs | The Job-board area at PlumbersForums.net

Hi, ive bought a flat panel aluminium rad off ebay and one of the 4 outlets is slightly larger than the other 3 by about 1 mm. Has anyone come accross this before and so what is the solution.
Cheers

Does it actually screw in? If it does I’d wrap some ptfe on the thread. If it doesn’t fit I’d be looking at contacting the seller. Whats the diameter of the thread out of curiosity?

Rake of ptfe and paste.

Or get shot.

Maybe why it was on flea bay in the first place.
That’s why I asked what diameter the thread was in case it was some Chinese knockoff with an unusual thread size. Jason, Ask for an exchange, if that’s the same get a refund.

If it's a bsp thread then the next size up from 1/2" is 5/8". You won't find anything in a plumbers merchants but possibly a specialist nut and bolt merchants may have something to bung it with. Worth a try if you want to keep the radiator.

Tried 5/8 today and its too big. Bugger. Would it be possible to make the hole threads larger or would all the bits of steel get trapped inside the rad .
Cheers

Errr, that looks a hell of lot bigger than 1mm gap.
1/2 inch 12.5 mm 15.
Jason, you can give me all the dislikes you like pal ;) but nowhere can I see what you claim to have posted.
Goodnight
This is a clip from opening post.

the 4 outlets is slightly larger than the other 3 by about 1 mm. as anyone come accross
Clearly.
The difference between 1/2 and 5/8 is just over 3mm so 5/8 being to big so gap is approx 2 mm.
If you dont have any sesensible/usefull comments dont bother posting and disliking my posts . Very childish

Well if you are going to add words here and there and mis quote you really ought to look in the mirror! Time to pick your dummy up.
Reply if you wish but you`re talking to the hand now.
