When i am heating the hot water the pump keeps running even though the boiler has stopped heating up the water, the only way i can stop the pump is by lowering the temp on the thermostat attached to the tank. I know there is a over-run on the pump but not for over 30 minutes surely.Could it be the thermostat is faulty ?

sounds like the thermostat is still calling for heat does the boiler come back on after like 5-10 mins?
