do many of you guys often mix the use of solvent fittings. As an example, pipe made by Osma and a fitting by Floplast? Or are they to variant to match up? Cheers

Yeah. I do it all the time. Some fit a tad tighter than others, but I do mix. Think Osma has the edge on quality, but can't always get hold of Osma (the specific fittings I want).

Same as me don’t mix ... use also mainly one supplier as kingofpipes.

agreed can be very tight within their tolerances, but sometimes I need a y branch or something and have to go out of my way and get a different make. If it's loose, I add more solvent, if tight, less.

I try not to mix them if I can help it. The floplast are 0.5mm greater in diameter so mixing them makes it either too tight for the pipe or too slack for the fitting. But adequate amount of weld pasted on does the trick, its not as if there is a huge amount of pressure going to be in the pipe.

Most seem to match up ok, except the stuff from the DIY outlets if you come across it.

Interesting that Floplast are 0.5mm greater in diameter in your experience. As I once bought some Floplast pipe instead of Osma because that was what wherever it was I was had, yet it seemed to fit okay with the fittings I had (whatever was in the bag - usually Centerbrand, Osma, and Polypipe, but not Floplast). Perhaps Floplast tolerances are rather generous and so the diameter varies?

I was just interested if people put solvent weld on both the pipe and fitting or just the pipe when glueing overflow/condensate pipe.
