Hi
I have a Mira Excel Post 1996 mixer shower. It has been in our house for over 4 years.
Over the course of the four years, we have noticed that sometimes the shower pressure is sometimes lower than normal and sometimes the shower has been stiff to switch on.
Today, my OH had a shower today and I went to get in and nothing, no water. I tightened the inside screw as I thought it was loose, shower switched on and it was stone cold. So I switched on and off again and the knob just turned and no water. It was as if the teeth had warn inside.
Opened tonight and teeth on both the knob and the black mixer cartridge appear fine, although two black clips broke off.
Tried manually turning the cartridge and still no water.
My thoughts are that the cartdridge has gone, but as we have an unvented system, I am concerned that it could also be the shower pump, but how can i tell?
