My company is planning switching over to mapress fitting , as opposed to capillary fitting's or the various the plastic options . Was just looking for some info on the performance and ease of the systems , good or bad . The majority of work will be on domestic systems .

mapress and x-press in my opinion are very good, not had many leaks from them. BUT.... you need the correct crimping tools which are expensive to buy (+£1000) or you could hire them but if its going to be a permanent thing then in the long run its probably cheaper to buy. The fittings are more expensive than solder or speedfit, the crimping tool isnt small, even the battery ones, and you will struggle to get anything underfloors, or in cupboards or any tight spaces crimped. If you dont get the heads on the fitting almost perfect, they will leak and you cant remake the joint just have to bin it and start again!!

but i would use it over solder, etc anyday (but i only really do bigger stuff or smaller in open spaces)
