LoxSeal re-use?

I'm at the stage of my shower replacement where I have a new shower head to screw into the wall pipes. I tried it, turned on the shower, and find there are light leaks. Obviously I need to fix this so I got some Blue plumbers tape. Trouble is, the pipe doesn't stick out enough to easily wrap the tape around. So I bought some LoxSeal Thread sealant.

But before I put it on, I thought I'd better ask around for some tips about it.

First question is, does it set hard? That is, if the leak is still there, will I be able to easily take the shower off and try again? Or will I have to clean the threads all over again, and apply extra LoxSeal?

Second, how much is considered a little or a lot? Do you only put enough on to wet the thread, or do you slather it on?

Third, can you also wrap tape around it after the thread has LoxSeal on it?

I prefer to use Jet Blue Plus, I'm sure others will have their favourite paste. I use a small flux brush to apply the paste (a finger tip is just as good). Give it a good coating and wipe off any excess after you've tightened the nut. First apply to the pipe end (that's dry), pop on the olive and paste that as well. Tighten up the nut finger tight then a turn and a bit with a spanner that fits the nut. Job done.

Can’t you remove the nipple in the wall and stick the new on into the female thread in the back ?

Thanks. As I'm a rank amateur I had to look up "Olive".. That shows how ignorant I am! But anyway, I think I've discovered my problem. I think it may be a simple matter of a small rubber O-ring that seems to be missing from the brass connector that came with the shower spout, (bought second-hand).

RT, now that I have the LoxSeal I'll stick with it. I've spent enough dosh on this reno already.
