A customer has called and said they have had problems with the drainage and as works in a builders merchant gave rodding ago. However they have lost the attachment the pung as I would call it. The circular rubber attachment, said I will have a go but never had to retrieve anything.

Was wondering if it would be best to try and push through to the main sewer or try and get it back.

Although Ive never tried it myself, there is a rod retrieveing tool avaliable which screws onto the end of the rod, like I say Ive never seen/done it and Iam not totally sure how it works and or if it would be suitable to retrive the rubber flap as oposed to a rod.

use the same attachment on a set of rods and push it out to the nearest inspection chamber, remember always twist the rods while in the drain in a clockwise direction, will help to move through the drain and you wont lose any attachments or rods.
