Hi All,
I hope you are doing well.
I have this 3.25mm lead-free grade 99c solder wire. I know that the good practice to bend the wire before soldering so you know exactly how much it is absorbed by the flux. I know too little isn't good and too much is as bad.
I need to connect two 15mm pipes with a straight connector.
Thanks

Yes front then back etc and yes

Let the heat of the metal melt the solder (not the flame).
Apply solder at the base (lowest point) so you can see it flood the fitting.
Don't burn the flux.

Practice makes perfect!

They used to say the same dia the same length of solder eg 15mm tube 15mm long of solder
You sure about that. Obviously, like I assume all the pros on here I don’t measure solder but wasn’t it half the diameter up to 28mm pipe?

15mm for a 15mm pipe is loads and will be dripping off the bottom.

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
