Hello to all this may seem a bit of a silly question but have you got to have a gas portfolio before you can do the exam allso have you got to be employed because I am unempolyed at the mo so where do I stand
Thanks all

I've seen guys taking exams without portfolio completed but you won't get final qualification even if you pass. So get it done before you take assessment.

Thanks for your reply mate have you got to have a portfolio no matter what have you got to have one if you am employed if so whats involved in the portfolio thanks

portfolio shows that you have done some gas work and you was working safely.college should give you all related documents and explain.

So am you aloud to do the exam if you am unempolyed?

I cant see why you wouldn't be able to take the exams regardless of your work status, once passed and registered gas safe will visit you for a chat and to make sure you know your stuff, about 12 weeks or so after they ask to look at a job you have done to check your practical skills, if you haven't worked / fitted anything recently it may be a set back but to answer your initial question it shouldn't effect taking the tests.
Good Luck Pal

Thanks for your reply mate my problem is that I have got to do a portfolio first and got no work yet lol

Is there a local gas man you can work with a few days a week for free? friend of the family ? offer your helping hand in exchange for experience and a portfolio ? if there's no other option it will pay in the future matey
