hi, Hopeing someone can shed some light on this....

I have an old central heating system in my flat....and i am very regularly having to bleed the radiators as they get lots of air in them. Attachted to one of the pipes in the airing cupbroad next to my hot water tank there is this black plastic tube with "flamvent" written on the side. It has a small red screw cap on the top when i unscrew this cap air comes out then eventually stops after a short period, (no water comes out as it does when you bleed a radiator) Am i am to leave this red cap off to "automaticly" bleed the system?

I can't find any information on "flamvents" anywhere on the internet, must be a very old system.

Thanks for any help!

It's an automatic bleed valve and no, water shouldn't come out. When the cap is closed, just unscrew it a little and leave.
