Hi Guys
Just removed a fire tray to fit new when the mortar coating the fire brick crumbled all fell away from the back. What type of mortar should be used to re-coat/repair the fire brick before installing new?

cheers

This is a complete stab in the dark here but I'd suggest fire cement.

Comes in a bucket or small tub. Have a chat with your local merchants.......

see the fire cement homes in a 2kg tub, gonna need a lot more than that... found some in a 5kg tub cheers
