Hi,
I have an old Honeywell thermostat (30 yrs) and when I tried to replace it it blew a fuse, so I have put the old one back on but now the heating comes on in the day or night when the timer is switched off. The program timer is British Gas UP2. Can you help me please!!!!

You have jumbled up wires. Take cover off and take a picture then upload it.

Ermi,

You are probably right here but jumbled up the wire infers there is loads of them, there is only going to be three tops, like you say a photo on the as is now and tell us what the new stat make is
and we can fix it or you can.

Tony

Wiring should be common 1 satisfied 3 and 2 is a neutral.
You may have fused the contacts on the timer when you blew the fuse (you made a live to neutral short).
Get someone who knows what they are doing to help you.

Tamz did the 6360B take over the 6060B

1 live in
2 N not normally use only for accelerator resistor
3 on (NC)
4 off (NO)

The 6160b (the brown one) was in between Tony but the wiring has stayed the same numbers over the years. Always a good idea to use the neutral for the anticipator if there is provision for it. Makes the stat more responsive.

Before you go up a ladder to have a look !]You never can tell what's behind a faceplate. ;)[/QUOTE]
