Ideal vogue is a nice boiler, but the 2nd genaration is having a plastic hydroblock rather then all cooper, also after sales can be awkward to deal with, also can be a long wait for engineer for repairs
Good luck

cheers

had a guy around tonight recommending a 40kw unit of Ideal Vouge

what are they like?

no as you will only be able to open one outlet

the ideal can only supply 16 lpm so thats down to 8lpm for two outlet but one will run cold

and theres alot to be said for ideal after service

Forgive me jumping in but my sister is planning on buying a house with this old boiler. She knows that she will have to replace the boiler, as it is leaking!! It is situated in the middle of her mid terrace house.

Can a replacement be installed in the same place as the existing boiler as all pipes are there? Will she need a flue going through the roof?

Her needs are very modest , lives by herself, has had a combi boiler for past few years and can cope without stored hot water.

Will be installing a water softener so ideally boiler with stainless heat exchanger!

Any ideas or recomendations chaps?? (and female chaps!) Long warranty period??

When she completes she will get a local installer round for a chat and quotaion!!

Yes, thanks KoP, I am aware of that facility. What I am looking for is guidance as to which boiler in the opinion of the forum experts out there to replace the Powermax bearing in mind the lack of need for stored water and use of water softener.

I see that pvcprinting has earlier recommended a Worcester 440 or a Viessmann 111 (thanks pvc).

When I have looked at the advice given from forum members it will help me to find a specialist amongst your I'm looking for a Plumber or Gas Engineer who are experienced in replacing the Powermax with the recommended boiler.

Thanks chaps[emoji106]

Had an engineer around yesterday.....

He is suggesting an unvented system

Thoughts guys on this type in relation to

1. Best system
2. Ball park installation (assuming present installed system requires no further work)
