Baxi Ecogen

Has anyone got any info on servicing the Stirling Engine in these?

I'm doing a CP12 on one of these tomorrow.

All I know is, you have to leave it for a certain length of time after isolating it before you can work on it because of the amount of electricity it holds. I've not seen one in a customers house yet.

[h=3]Q What are the maintenance requirements for the Baxi Ecogen?[/h]A The Baxi Ecogen should be serviced once a year by a competent engineer (eg Gas Safe registered engineer who has undertaken the Baxi Ecogen training course). The Stirling engine is sealed for life and so servicing and repair is similar to a conventional boiler.

Oh dear!
I went there tonight instead and I think I've made a boo boo.

I turned the boiler off, and started taking it apart, it was fully isolated but I got a belt off it????
When I got off the floor i had to use a hammer and bolster to get the front off the combustion chamber.

Anyway, I serviced the engine thingy but when I put it back together there was this strange flappy looking device left over and now the boiler doesn't fire.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I would not go near this unless you have some guidance from someone in the know to help you along.
This has to be shut down and disconnected from the grid and safely discharged before it is safe to work on.
Then there are different steps where your FGA must be taken.

I thought that the ruddy thing blowing me across the room had probably 'safely discharged' it.
Got to say that I did stagger quite a bit once I came around and tried to stand up, are these the different steps to which you refer?
