problem with boiler overheating and cutting out - stats are all ok - pump is running but really hot - one of the rads nearest the boiler was closed - opened and now the boiler is running ok...

im thinking the pump is failing?

could be probably the original gold one get it from abkot your looking for a pump with 1 inch unions and air separator grunfos do one that abkot sell

or could it be theres no bypass and rads have trvs that have closed, leading to lockout. opening rad intoduced new bypass, had this last month on an intessa combi, made a loovely noise until I opened up the bathroom rad and removed its trv and replaced with a lockshield. I gather this was a diy install using a 2nd hand boiler, couldnt prove it but checked all the gas work to cover my bum before I left
