hi

my current toilet has been in for over 30 years and is connected to a 3 inch (83mm) lead pipe which goes straight through the wall to the cast iron pipe. The centre line of this lead pipe is also around 80mm from floor level whereas the centre-line of the 4" (102mm) outlet on the new toilet is 180mm from floor level.

What are my options please?

thanks

Replace all or part of cast pipe with plastic. Branch off and come through wall at required height in 100mm.

The lead should come out of the tee in the soil pipe. You can then put in a cast yo plastic adaptor, and replace with plastic to the correct height.

In the end i took the rubber grommet thing off the outlet of a flexi pipe leaving the plastic only which had an internal diameter of about 85mm, so i stikaflexed this to the 83mm OD lead pipe, so far so good only had one blockage (to be expected with expecting 4" of waste into 3"), not perfect but i'm selling the house so wanted to do it as cheap as poss...

thanks

Hi, I seemed to have a blockage in kitchen sink. A plumber came and cleared all the pipework that is visible inside my home (there was debris and pebbles!) We saw that the pipe that takes water down the gutter was visibly full to the top. He said he will return with a coil to push through...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
