System boiler and unvented cylinder would be my advice , make is up to the installer and yourself if you want stainless steel heat exchanger , Baxi , viessman, valliant are just a few worth considering they all have unvented cylinders to match up all the best k

Current system is a Baxi set up which has served us well for 17 years.......

My only reservation with unvented cylinder is the close proximity to young daughter bedroom....

Appreciate these are tested to around 15bar (5 times operating pressure)

How safe are they

What Kw boiler would you suggest with size of cylinder to run a 4 bed detached with 2 bathrooms?

Depends on how many rads you have 28 - 35kw boiler and 210 - 250 litre cylinder , powermax is pressurised so not any different ? Safety is always the first consideration though installed correctly you should have no problems , price not gonna commit to that on here will most definatley get slated , find a local installer get him round to quote you it is impossible to say without seeing your system cheers k

Total 15 rads over 13 rooms, including a conservatory

13 rooms what do you live in a castle ha ha dont go for a system boiler then it wont pump round that lot 35kw boiler low loss header , seperate pump -250 litre unvented thats why you need a engineer to see it not your average 4 bed is it . cheers k
