Worcester junior 28i

Hi Guys

worcester bosch junior 28i : boiler doesnt fire up when heating is called for but if you switch on the hot water tap the boiler fires and when you switch the tap off the boiler stays on and the radiators heat up all ok
the customer said he can hear clicking when its calling for heat from the boiler but it doesnt light until you switch the tap on

any ideas on this

Diverter valve sticking?

these have an electronic diverter, only a small paddle, a simple strip down would tell u if its sticking or not

i had one of these before with the stepper motor which i pulled out and tested ,put it back and all working fine this has happened twice now on different jobs with no call back ,according to bosch the boiler forgets which mode its in ,sounds like rubbish to me but there you go

the customer says he hears the boiler trying to ignite when the heating is called for so i thought it would be getting the signal from the divertor v/v micro switch for the ignition.
