Hello, my name is Salvador. I work in the Metro Detroit area for non-profit agency that provides assistance to residents that are having trouble with their water bills. I am part of a team that goes into the home and figures out why water bills are so high. I am not a plumber by trade, but I have learned about residential plumbing systems. I am joining this forum to seek advice on issues I come across during my inspections.

One thing I will say about plumbing: people will do some crazy modifications to their plumbing.

Thank you for any future advice and observations.

This issue arose about a year ago. Does anyone have an idea why I occasionally hear (about once every hour or longer) a hammer related noise coming from my copper water pipes when no water is being used? It basically sounds like the noise you hear after the water shuts off when your toilet bowl...
