First daft question for the knowledgeable.

How acceptable is it to install a new radiator on the other side of a wall to an existing radiator, T'ing off the flow and return from the tails to the existing rad??

Is this a no no or just reducing the efficiency of both rads?

Thanks

Hello Blimpy,
its a good question, not daft.
it all depends on the size of pipes, size of radiators, number of radiators on the same pipe run etc.
if the flow rate or heat capacity of the pipe is not sufficient for the demand then your radiators will not work properly.
also the rest of the system would likely need balancing because of the addition.

Hello all, I live in a flat that has communal heating through a single pipe system. I recently had replaced a deco flat panel (waffle) radiator with a more mundane type 22 panel radiator. The problem is that the new radiator sort of worked in the beginning, but it does not emit any heat now...
