I have a worcester Bosch greenstar CDI compact that’s around 6 years old. Over the last few months I’ve noticed the pressure when the heating isn’t on drops to 0 and if I flick the Salus control on the boiler to on nothing happens and the boiler light stays off.
What I have since worked out is that instead of flicking the control on the boiler to on if I use the portable salus thermostat to ‘up the temperature’ the boiler light comes on and the pressure slowly raises to a reasonable level and we have heating again.
The first few times this happened I topped the water up to 1 thinking it was a leak but when the heating came on it then started shooting up to 3.5 and had to let some out.
I’m starting to think it’s an issues with the control on the boiler but can’t work out why the pressure drops to zero each time.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
