Afternoon guys

I have been asked to fit a W/C and basin with all neccessary fittings in an industrial unit. I am also installing a 15ltr under sink unit.

This is all being checked by building control and as I am a domestic engineer I have a couple of questions.
Should I be fitting blending valves on the staff / communal basin?

I have also been asked to certificate the sanitary installation? I have never had to do this before as I install in customers houses. What certification is there?

I have been in this industry 14 years and this my first taste at a site job.

They have also said penalties will be implied if I do not finish on time.

Any info would be good. Many Thanks!

Put a ridiculous price in

You'll need to know off them first what spec they want etc

Draw a small contract. If they want to impose penalties for not finishing you want to cover your bum too

They imposse penalties on you cos they will probably be on a penalty charge if they dont finish on time. Best bet get a copy of spec and see what it says about basins etc and go from there

This is good advice. Also consider how much time you'll be spending on locating the correct paperwork, rules, form filling, etc.

You will definately need a TMV. Wouldn't do a job with a penalty clause, too big a risk as you never know what problems you might hit on the install.

They will want you to self certify your work.
You need to be on the approved contractors list to be able to do this.

Penaltys for a late finish?

As if the extra agro and loss of money from a job thats gone over is not penalty enough, you have a further kick in the teeth to come for good measure?
