I received a call last night at 8.40pm by a chap who tried to sell me gas training for £4k, all teh theory, and guaranteed portfolio experience where the gas mentor will collect me from my house.

I am not sure who he was or where he was from but I kept him talking for a while.

I did inquire a while ago but received no replies!!

Oh well, from small acorns.

Have a good day all.

£4 k is cheap for a good course including supplying a placement, I've seen it advertised and delivered for £5.5k

wow, they also wanted me to do the 6129 with a cost of £5795 but I cant do the gas with out the other they said!

All in all a lot of money.

Slough, Berkshire.

just trying to gear up for when I am officially out of work.

Getting tense as no work yet but haven't advertised etc.

Would love to get with a plumber to do my nvq2 and get confidence.

Maybe there'll be someone when I am out if work.

Thanks for your Reynolds.

Have you considered the electrical side of things as an option? Goes very well with plumbing and much lower running costs than being GSR from what I understand, when you factor in the training cost difference too. You can charge the same for electrical work as the GSR engineers are charging, well around where I am you can.

I've not been short of work really since I qualified last year and the variety makes work much more interesting. I've also found it's much easier to get into commercial work as an electrician than as a plumber.
