Is being a plumbing lecture really as bad a job as some say. I am still keen to give it a go. See them advertised quiet abit. Has anyone done it before?

Other than pay why is it supposed to be bad? Can't remember his moniker but there was a regular member here that used to lecture full time I think, he might pick up.

You asked about this a few years ago. The answers from then might still be helpful:

Teaching/lecturing seems to me to be like many professions and trades. Outsider think it's an easy and well-paid life. Insiders think it's an underpaid grind and want out.

Around 1 BC Ovid wrote, 'The harvest is always richer in another man’s field.' and that's still true. On the other hand, life isn't a rehearsal and if you feel something is worth trying, go for it!

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

I want to reconnect some outbuildings to an existing water supply. The supply pipe is old 22mm MDPE and buried for a fair distance so not going to dig it up and replace it 😬. Question is can I use normal 22mm plumbing push-fit connectors to make the connection as finding 22mm MDPE fittings...
