Hi guys I have a Potterton Boiler this heats up the radiators and the hot water.
There is also an immersion heater in the airing cupboard too that we leave
switched off.
Our water was cold the other day and we noticed when the heating and water lights come on on the timer panel the pilot light wasn't lighting.
I turned the thermostat on the wall up to full. Nothing.
Turned the radiator thermostats up. Nothing.
Checked in the airing cupboard and on the Myson power extra 322 there are 2 LED's
1 for heating the other for water. These are both lit.
I tried the slider to manual as instructed in other threads. Nothing.
I then took the actuator off and had a look, the slider moves very loosely but does not
move the female part that connects with the male valve key on the brass valve.
I tried the valve key with pliers it moves fine.
I replaced the actuator I moved the slider to manual and held it past for a minute or so nothing.
I believe the actuator operates and then sends a signal to the pump which in turn operates and sends a signal to the boiler to fire the pilot light up or in a similar order, my point is does this actuator control the boiler or vice versa either or? Does it sound to you guys that the actuator is in fact defective therefore
not allowing the boiler to kick in?
I appreciate anyone with time to answer a complete novice.
Cheers.

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
