buckley plumb

been to a main eco today about 3 years old. heating is fine but on hw boiler would not modulate seemed to heat water and turn burner on and off - fitted hw thermistor as hw thermistor fault come up occsionaly. this seemed to help and when the hot tap was turned on full the boiler would modulate - turn tap to half flow burner would hunt up and down trying to modulate down after 2 min it would modulate to low and be ok .I am thinking now heating thermistor as this controls the primary flow

Do a resistance check on it, it'll be in the book. Also put it in to chimney sweep, and see if it runs ok on low. Had a faulty gas valve on one of these.

resistance was ok mate but didn't check at different temps .run ok on low rate on htg

was thinking that but made no attempt to modulate at first . and after 2 mins ran ok until tap turned off and on again to do same cycle

Id chuck another ntc on it, parhaps try running it out of its pocket so it can't sense and see if it still modulates.

will order one tomorrow the one on main heat ex is £40.

Ouch, for an ntc? If it's a dry pocket, remove from pocket .Plug it in so it can't sense temps and see what happens.

I just plug a ntc loose to test see if it makes any difference to the way it fires. before changing wet pocket. but sounds like hex?

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Hi all. Hope you have all been keeping well. A while back I decided I only wanted to fit one brand of boiler and decided on Viessmann due to space for servicing and changing parts if ever needing to. I am finding my decision rather hard due to the different clearances on flue runs and cupboards...

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
