Hi there,

I normally use Sentinel x100 for replenishing central heating inhibitor, a bit pricey however I have seen a product called sure graft at plumbase, just wondering what people think to it.

Looking at the state of some of the central heating contents I have drained down recently, anything is better than nothing!

Regards

I use x100 for my installs or the bes inhibitor for maintenance work...

I Always use Fernox products , unless deal on with inline filter then will use what they supply, Never liked Sentinel products.

Why not lol, just pour it in & forget, what's to dislike? I find Fernox overpriced

Stick to sentinel or fernox, I repair boilers every day that have leaked or failed because of cheap inhibitors. They crystallise in and around joints, o rings and washers etc. I've even seen some eat through aluminium... That's not to say they all do this though, I'm sure some are good.

Sure graft is plumbase/buildbase's own branded stuff that's why it's cheap

I'd I had the choice it'd be sentline for me every time but recently I've been using the merchants own brand at £7.50 a go or £12 for 2

It's hard to know if an inhibitor is doing a good job or not.
I normally work with oil systems and find some of the cheaper inhibitors seem to keep the system clean.
Fernox is supposedly one of the best inhibitors. Plumbcentres own brand is apparently made by Fernox, as is their cleaning fluid, I hear.

As long as its got the build cert logo it should be o.k. Saying that I do prefer Adey mc1

How can anyone prefer it, it's been on the market 10 minutes, sentinel & Fernox are tried & tested for years at least!

Concentration for 150 litres is good as most say 100 litres, but can you believe them?

Its got a pretty coloured bottle!

Pretty difficult to say it's cheap inhibitor to blame. Boilers leak all the time, we don't know what inhibitor was in there in the first instance, if any at all?

Eating through aluminium is probably more likely strong cleaner left in the system or just a poor bum ideal aluminium hex!

I dont like sentinal it leaks green gunge out of compression joints etc, I ve had bother with it before so I prefer Fernox F1 i use it in my own system and have had up to 4 bottles in it as I just tope it up each year, never a problem and the system is nice and clean.
Ive started using the Adey MC1 as ive been getting it with the magnaclean pro filter does anyone know what its like, you can buy it for around £8 - 9 a 500 ml bottle which is £6-7 cheaper than fernox f1

Any of the names weve heard of i use ifnthe price is right.
I add it and forget - yet to go back to a system with issues because of poor inhibitor..

fernox superconcentrate gel, its the easiest to get into a system without spillage I find, just inject the gel into the towel rad.

ive seen a very old system that had no right to be as clean as it was, when doing a boiler changeover the water was as clear as a bell.. but that system belonged to my old gaffer and he always double doses every system, which i know is a contentious issue but having seen the results, it works.

Sentinel is my preferred brand i don't like fernox it crystallises and their filters leak so now fit Adey magnaclean, or spirax sarco .

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...
