Hello - I have a loose toilet seat but no obvious ways to tighten it. I have looked all over the Internet and I have tried various things that have been recommended.

I have looked for buttons to release it, I've tried lifting the metal caps to try rotate them, I've tried removing the little plastic caps but all to no avail.

I've attached photos of how it looks and am tearing my hair out in frustration!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Try putting lid and seat up and holding them pull upward to remove, then you can remove the metal shrouds from the fixin, probably a screw head underneath the shroud

Two little "inserts", or something removable here and here (outlined in red)??
push them, lever them out, or are they just moulding lines?

Once you get the seat off, that will give you a chance of tightening the fixings as above

That worked! Thank you so much, I removed those plastic bits which let me lift the seat off, move the metal covers and tighten the screws.

Thanks to you both!

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
