Hi all,
My customer has a gas fire with an external gas pipe (runs across the front of the fire - see pic).
He'd like a new gas fire. No chance of re-running the pipe through the chimney opening.
Any ideas of a gas fire that would suit? I've looked at a few, but would like the gas connections on the right hand side (so the pipe doesn't get in the way of the controls). He'd also like a finger slide control.
Thanks for any ideas,
Jennie

Some Gazco fires have the pressure test elbow on the right with the restrictor screw facing forwards so may be possible to swivel to receive a pipe from the right (to see drawings, click on individual hearth mounted gas fires on their website and scroll down to tech docs at the bottom) but not sure how easy in practice. I haven't fitted any Gazco fires for a while and not currently servicing any.
Might need to avoid too tight bends in case they reduce pressure.
And could be more complicated with a slide control as the lever mechanism would also be at the bottom right.

To renew the external pipe you can get the brass and bronze ones from BES.

There probably are other suitable fires. How is the current one connected?
