Customer with current cream crackered se Halstead Ace combi. Current flue discharges into a yard of a neighbouring house. Its been a long week and just want to make sure that when i told customer that new condenser cannot discharge in same place, i am right.

As far as I am aware you are right woodsy ... The way I look at it, what if the yard owner wants to extend their house out into the yard? They can't if the flue is going to end up inside their extension!!

check the MI, with most manufactures i think its normally 600mm clearance when facing a boundary unless it could cause a nuisance (near to door or window etc..)then its 2.5m. But even if you stick to these if theres a compliant its likely to be upheld. If it was an existing install and the neighbour wanted to extend or add a window they can not force you to alter it unless it hangs over the boundary line.

no it cant discharge over someone elses property i thought it had to be a metre from boundary there is even a distance if its firing down the boundary line think thats 300mm

Doe this go for upstairs flats of the same stile properties? There are loads of terrace properties in Newcastle where the kitchens extend out at the back and their wall is next doors yard wall. I was looking out at a new flue just yesterday from the kitchen window of an upstairs flat that crossed the boundary all be it 30' up! I'm under the impression that it also should not have been installed there!

It was an old fashioned row of terrace houses and the boiler was fitted in the cellar on the gable end discharging into the garden of another row at 90degrees to the ones i was in. Tbh, i really knew the ansawer but i'd had a cr#p week and it was the first decent job all week and as usual its for a landlord & could see me telling her it would have to be moved and her getting somebody cheaper who wouldn't be bothered with doing it right. Anyway after calming down, i just said i wouldn't do it unless it was done right. Happy days, got the job anyway but the landlord said could she pay me out of the £350 per month rent for the next 5 /6 months - priceless !! Got to make you laugh

HA HA HA can just see the reaction now you walk into merchants i need xyz and i"ll pay u 100 a month for 6 months just watch u get laughed out hte door, were do some people get their ideas from

tell her that after every payment you will turn one radiator one, after 6 months and final payment they will all be working.

Hi all. Hope you have all been keeping well. A while back I decided I only wanted to fit one brand of boiler and decided on Viessmann due to space for servicing and changing parts if ever needing to. I am finding my decision rather hard due to the different clearances on flue runs and cupboards...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
