Discuss Combi underfloor heating and external boiler connection? in the Water Underfloor Heating Advice area at PlumbersForums.net

Hello,

I have a gas boiler in my apartment that heats a net area of 300 m2 with an underfloor heating system. The boiler has a capacity of 45 kW. There's no issue with the heating system, but I want to increase the hot water capacity. I plan to connect an external 200-liter boiler. How can I control this system most effectively?

Note: This device is not a boiler; it's a combi boiler that provides both heating and hot water.

Note: I have attached a draft and am seeking assistance from experts.

Note: Please do not suggest solutions involving different devices, such as replacing the combi boiler with a separate boiler. I am only seeking advice for this specific system.

On the central heating side of the boiler have an extra two port zone valve to serve the new hot water cylinder. You will need a spare channel on your programmer.
If your boiler is able to it would be better to schedule the hot water at a time when no heating is needed and then the boiler can work at say 75 deg c to recharge the cylinder but only work at say 45 deg c at other times to run the underfloor heating.
You would probably only need two 1 hour slots to satisfy the hot water needs - so underfloor could be on 22hours a day should you so wish.

Thank you my friend for taking your valuable time to reply. Can you draw a diagram please? If I understand correctly, you said that I could solve this with a programmable room remote control...

Why/what are you trying to achieve?

If you have the flow rate, the combi will use all of its power to to provide max flow.

Having a store of water seems pointless.

Are you trying to increase flow rate? Due to multiple showers?
