I would like some guidance regarding the Worcester CDi 29 Classic boiler. According to the manual it has a holiday mode and frost protection mode for when away for a period of time such as a holiday, both of which disables the central heating system and both require it to be set manually.
I have read that some Worcester boilers have frost protection as a standard feature that does not require the user to set, an useful feature for when the boiler is located in the loft or a garage where the boiler will fire up if the temperature drops below 5 degrees in the location where the boiler is installed. This is my situation, the boiler is situated in the loft and I have concerns that it could suffer frost damage during the night.
The manual also mentions frost protection for the heating system and talks of a frost thermostat for pipework in the area to prevent pipes from freezing and adding antifreeze into the system.
Does anyone know if the Worcester CDi 29 boiler have this frost protection feature or do I need to take further measures to protect the boiler on a day to day basis during the winter months. I have insulated the piping going to and from the boiler in the loft area.
Your advice would be appreciated as this is a constant worry.
Thanks
