I am replacing my old water mains with a new 25mm MDPE (blue) pipe and im looking for advise on how to connect it best to my existing stopcock.

Is there a fitting out there that would fit on to the 25mm MDPE and connect directly to stopcock. The stopcock currently has a 22mm pipe connected with compression nut to stopcock.

There are so many different types of fittings i unsure what would be best. As its the water main i want to go for something that is not going to give me problems.

Any advice would be appreciated.

change it to 25 mdpe to 22 mm copper type stopcock ,fit new stopcock best practice !!!

You can buy a 25mm x 22mm stopcock, try Toolstation, i think they,re about 8 quid or so.

Use a stopcock adaptor

My personal choice would be to use a 25mm plastic stop tap with 22mm adaptor set. The brass compression type fittings can be prone to leaking and even popping off if not fitted correctly or exposed to movement. A number of house builders i have worked for have refused to allow the brass compression type to be used due to problems in the past.

if you use the brass compression type then double check the olive has tightened correctly and the mdpe pipe is sealed when coming out of its sleave to stop any movement/bouncing.

Hi. I need a new toilet supply line but donā€™t know the size type of the fitting at the shut off valve. It is not 3/8 compression. It is a plastic nut about the same size as the one going into the cistern but has a different thread. Attached is a photo. Can you advise. Thanks.

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
