slow
In everyday use and in kinematics, the speed (commonly referred to as v) of an object is the magnitude of the rate of change of its position with time or the magnitude of the change of its position per unit of time; it is thus a scalar quantity. The average speed of an object in an interval of time is the distance travelled by the object divided by the duration of the interval; the instantaneous speed is the limit of the average speed as the duration of the time interval approaches zero.
Speed has the dimensions of distance divided by time. The SI unit of speed is the metre per second (m/s), but the most common unit of speed in everyday usage is the kilometre per hour (km/h) or, in the US and the UK, miles per hour (mph). For air and marine travel the knot is commonly used.
The fastest possible speed at which energy or information can travel, according to special relativity, is the speed of light in a vacuum c = 299792458 metres per second (approximately 1079000000 km/h or 671000000 mph). Matter cannot quite reach the speed of light, as this would require an infinite amount of energy. In relativity physics, the concept of rapidity replaces the classical idea of speed.
The fill on my toilet is very slow, I have found that If I take the lid off the cistern and lift the shut-off arm? and release a couple of times and release I can make it flow faster. There is also water escaping from the top of the fill valve assembly, this continues after the water has...
Last night, went to flush the toilet and the water entering the cistern was incredibly slow, almost like there was no water pressure. However there is pressure as all the taps are as they should be.
Ive not had much experience of these so can someone advise me on what I need to do?

The syphon recently packed up in our toilet. *I replaced it with an Opella dual flush now the toilet
just fills up and drains slowly wether you use full flush or short flush its the same. The toilet is a close coupled

I have an Ideal combi 24 that's 5 years old. This winter I noticed that the (non digital) clock is often slow. It started with a few minutes every day and is now on 30mins in 24hrs. It's easy enough to reset the clock every day, but still annoying when I forget and the heating doesn't come on in...
Help. I've just replaced a shower tray as part of a complete bathroom refit. The water is backing up in the shower tray. If I use a plunger on the trap I get air coming out and then the trap runs great creating a good flow and works fine. However, as soon as the shower is turned off there is a...

Hello All,
(First posting so please make allowances!)
Have a Potterton F40. Was very slow to ignite and sometimes flame went out although fan kept going for maybe 30mins during "On" cycle. Radiators cooled off. Got a new PCB off eBay and fitted it.
Much better now except that:

I have a Vailant Ecotec 630 which was fitted about 8 months ago. It has behaved strangely from new and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas. The heating engineer who fitted it claims that it's working fine. When heating is demanded the boiler fires but the burner is modulated down to a low...
What is the correct amount of turns (roughly ) to set the slow ignition device on a medway automatic. I am going to one with explosive ignition , i will be stripping the water jacket , cleaning and then re-adjusting. Thanks in advance
Hello, I hope you can help me please. I have a push-button toilet that is slow to fill (its giving a spray, almost like a puncture in a hose), now I have been advised that it could be the SIAMP Valve Washer. The problem is the washer is not coming out with the nut/float Arm. Do I need to 'poke'...
We have a problem which has left us scratching our heads over, including the plumber who has just changed our boiler and installed new taps etc.
Everything is working fine apart from the washhand basin hot tap situated in the upstairs bathroom. It seems very slow when turned to full, warms up...
Hi All,
Looking for some advice here. First off here's a picture of the island sink:

The kitchen has been previously moved and installed in the living room, so the sink isn't anywhere near an outside wall.
What I've got is a really slow...
This basin is located in a guest bedroom and the pipework goes right across two rooms to tee into pipework from a shower and basin in the room adjacent R4. The shower and basin work fine, no issues, but the basin in room 5 is extremely slow. I dosed it with three litres of Wickes organic pipe...
The hot tap on our bath is running slow (it was ok til recently), all other hot taps are fine. I've checked the tap over and the washer etc appears ok. I've tried a wet n dry hoover on the tap in case it was airlock (although I read this is unlikely as its an unvented system). I've poked around...

Hi, we have recently had a new shower installed and the water is very slow draining, we are ending up with water round our ankles, we find the only way to stop it overflowing over the tray is to keep turning the shower off through showering and letting the water drain which isn't ideal, any ideas?
Hi, new to this forum and hoping for clarification on a slow loss of pressure. Boiler 5yrs old but has been losing pressure virtually since installed. Drops from 1 bar to 0.25 bar over 4 - 8 weeks of central heating use in the winter. Called Halstead engineer while under warranty, who said...

Hi folks,
I have bought a new house a year ago from a developer and besides the usual minor issues you get with new houses, this one has been troubling me for some time. The plumbers who fitted the bathroom had another look when I complained repeatedly about the slow draining of the bath tub...
Hi guys.
Newbie here and as usual my first post is because I have a problem.
I have an older Worcester Heatslave 15/19 oil fired boiler I purchased second hand and installed myself.
I am not sure of the terminology but I have installed it in line, - ie/ I have no header tank or immersion...
